Call the Dr’s office who has prescribed both the rx & let them know your concerns.
For more extreme help, call the Dept of Family & Childrens Services in your locale.

1st of all call a local drug treatment center and they will help you and family& freinds to do an intervetion. then go to an Alanon or Ala Teen meeting there in the phone book everywhere the self family deal with addictive realitives like AA does with the actual alcoholic or Narcotic annonomis.. addicts go to. But they are for family and freinds.Ask people there about how to do an intervension.

the answer is NO you cannot help someone that doesn't want help. all you can do is be a positive influence and remove yourself from the situation. i am sorry that you are in such a poor situation. it's a hard age to be at anyway. you have to make a very adult decision and think about if you and your sister are safe. you will both suffer and will probably not mature socially while you're living there since you're being raised by an addict. that is no role model. you need to seek advice from a close adult family member. also remember this....addiction tends to be repetitive. you and your sister will have a higher chance of becoming alcoholics or addicted to drugs because you mother is showing you that this is the correct way to deal with problems. i will pray for you. please go get help.

Call the department of social services, or child protection, or whatever you have in your area. Or call the police the next time she's zoned out of her mind, and have them send a squad car over. You should not be saddled with the responsibilities of an adult because your mother chooses not to act like one. She is endangering you and any siblings you have with you in the house. She needs help. As long as you "enable" her to continue this innappropriate behavior, she will.

Check on the laws of your state. You may be able to, as next of kin, check her into a treatment facility against her will. If you believe she is a threat to herself or others, this may be the way to go.

My mother was the same way….
She had “back pain”…
She went to 4 different doctors, getting prescriptions for painkillers, valium and xanax from EACH of them.
It messed her up really bad.
She had a number of car accidents and was so messed up, she never took responsibilty for any of them.
Eventually, she was so whacked out on these prescriptions, she lost her footing one day and fell in the bathroom, smashing her head on the toilet, where we found her dead 2 days later.
(based on her not answering the phone for 2 days)
Tell your mother, this is what she has to look forward to.

dont push them obviously they want no help and im sorry its your mom your in a very tough spot they have to fall to rock bottom before they will even ask for help

Well you say she has been doing this for 20 years.. If you and your other siblings would go and talk to her doctor that may help or make it worse…Could your court order her in a rehab. How is her funding. Does she have insurance.. In action you really don`t have much of a chance being a minor and a younger sister unless your older sister would care for you and your younger sister. You are to young to take care or yourself and your younger sister in other words you are both minors and i would hate to see you go to foster homes if they put your mother into court order to get help for her pill abuse. This is a hard decision. Your mother needs help badly and does not need enabling. Do you have anyone in your family that could help you and your sister? Alot of bad things could happen to all of you if your mom is not functioning right. There are stories of fires and etas and i don`t want to scare you but you do need legal advice!!!asap!!!

go to your moms doctor and tell him/her what you know. but if she doesn’t want help there is little else you can do
