I am a certified pharmacy technician and I know from seeing people addicted to prescription drugs that some of the symptoms would be experiencing depression, anger, sometimes tremors, etc, if they can’t get the meds. Patients will lie about the usage of the drug and sometimes will go to any measure necessary to get it. They will also use too much of the medicine and will try to get it filled early. Once a drug is abused, it takes more and more to satisfy a craving for it. Patients start to think they have to have the medicine and will actually “invent” symptoms that would justify using the medicine.
