If you take a prescription drug like Vicodin and then swithch to Diluadid with the normal working drug testing methods catch this? How long will it stay in your system? Better yet I know they will show up but will they distinguish 1 between the other?

They will both test positive for opiates. The test will not distinguish between the two unless a GC/MS is also done. Opiates are detectable in urine for 72 hours.
just tell them what you are taking and bring the medication bottles with you to the testing site.
