How Long Will She Detox From Heroin?
Filed in The Category Symptoms of Heroin Use
A very close family member to me is in a lockdown/detox center to detox from several years of opiate/heroin abuse. It was Monday morning when this person went in. After that, their probabtion officer said they must do at least 28 days now, but probably 60 days. This person really wants to stop – but I have never seen something so horrible. It’s as though this drug stole this person’s soul. Any suggestions or helpful information is very much appreciated. I am tearing up thinking about what has happened to this person I love so dearly. I cannot cast this person out of my life as other’s have. The judge told this person that those who do not die from heroin OD usually are the one’s in prison. (terrible thing to say). There has to be many successful recovery stories out here. Thanks.
What Are Some Practical Side-effects That Lsd Can Have On The Body From One Hit?
Filed in The Category Symptoms of LSD Use
I’ve heard all about the euphoria, i just want to know about what bad things could go wrong.
i’m not talking about stuff like,
You drive around while you trip and you crash and die, or
You kill yourself because there was an evil clown chasing you.
Let’s keep it intellectual and informative.
For the record, i’m not gonna try it.
I just wanna know if i should talk my friend out of it or not.
Merci!
Is Hunger A Form Of Withdrawl?
Filed in The Category Drug Withdarawl Symptoms
I have read that many people can go up to a month without food, so why do we get so hungry after just a few hours? Like have you ever gone so long without eating it stopped hurting? So then why does it hurt so much when you just ate 8 hours ago? I theorize that our body is going through withdrawl, similar to that of a drug. If this is true, is it because of the chemicals in our processed food, or is it just natural for our bodies to do this? What do you think, and where should I research this hypothesis more?
What Is A Good Name For A Film About Heroin Addiction?
Filed in The Category Symptoms of Heroin Use
I am a student filmmaker and I am in the process of filming a short dramatic piece about heroin addiction.
Plot: A young girl is abused by her father, runs away…ends up on the streets and addicted to heroin. She is then in a recovery facility, but can’t take the withdrawls anymore so she leaves the facility and shoots up one last time. Which ends up being fatal.
Anyone have a good name I could attach to this piece?
Thanks!

Can Past Hard Drug Abuse Damage The Ova (egg Cells) In A Woman And Cause Mental Retardation Or Birth Defects?
Filed in The Category Symptoms of Heroin Use
Can the already developed ova that are in a woman’s body from birth be damaged from years of hard drug use, specifically opiate, marijuana and cocaine abuse? I am curious to know if the child of a former heroin addict is at risk of being born with any birth defects both physical and mental. The mother has been free from drugs for six years. I want to know if ova can be altered while dormant in the ovaries and lead to problems years later if the egg is fertilized. Thank you.
Does Depakote Or Zyprexa Have Withdrawl Side Effects?
Filed in The Category Drug Withdarawl Symptoms
I’m 21 years old, I’m bipolar. I used to take depakote and zyprexa. I stopped taking them about a week ago. I have been taking them for years. I just came off of them all of a sudden and the doctor doesn’t know about it. I decided to come off of these meds because they made me hungry all the time. Eating alot makes people gain weight. I’m afraid of getting fat so I don’t wanna gain weight, in fact, I want to lose some more. Since I’ve come off of them I’ve been eating alot less and it is much easier to stick to my starvation diet (under 700 calories a day). I’m currently 5′8 and about 114 pounds. According to the height/weight charts, I’m underweight, which to me is BS because I still don’t think I look thin enough, so I wanna lose more. The problem is that recently I’ve been feeling sickly all the time, I always have a headache, I feel nausous all the time, and I have flu-like all the time. Do these drugs have withdrawl effects like these or is this the starvation? I’m not going back!
Has Anyone Had A Serious Substance Abuse Problem And If So What Were The Effects And/or How Did You Deal With?
Filed in The Category Symptoms of Heroin Use
I had a serious problem with drug addiction when I was 17- 21. It went everywhere from alcohol abuse to marijuana to heroin even crack. I am 26 now. Since then I have quit everything except occasional but controlled amounts of alcohol and cigarettes. I am also on medication for some sort of chemical imbalance and just want to hear if there are any similar experiences to this type of reaction and if so, how did you get your life back on the “normal” track, so to speak?
