It is your sister's mistake to make, not yours, not your family's and not even her children's. You all must simply be content with supporting her emotionally like a good family should. The more she can look at the supportive, loving, helpful people in her life and see how people are supposed to behave, she will have the best comparison for her companion. This alone may help open her eyes to the impact her decisions have on herself and her family. Stick with her and be ready to listen, not judge!

That is so scary, because the truth is: the more you push, the more she'll run. But this isn't a mistake you want her to make either way. My sister got into drug heavily. We come from a good upper-class family who were taught good values. She is back! Finally! But we lost her for quite a while. Love her, support her, and be there for her. If she has your love and trust -- she'll be more prone to want to be around you then the (well, sorry) loser! If you are happy, positive, loving and fun -- that's how you'll win her back! Who wants to listen to someone that is always harping and negative? I wouldn't! I am sorry your family is going through this scary time. I did, and I couldn't imagine if she had kids. It'll all be okay.
