I have been on Marvelon for 5 months now, after a 6 month break from my previous pill. I didn’t notice anything different from my old pill for the first couple of months, but for the last couple I seem to experience menstrual symptoms (like tender, swollen breasts and slight cramps) really early – like when I still have at least 7 pills to go. I sometimes get slight spotting too.
In previous months I have just put this down to missing a pill (have alway used back up protection – don’t worry!) but this month have had the same thing and have taken all pills perfectly. Always get my period about 4 days after stopping the pills for my 7 day break.
It doesn’t really bother me that I get these symptoms, they aren’t very severe, I’m just concerned that my pill isn’t protecting me from pregnancy as it should if I am getting these symptoms.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before I ask my doctor.

Hey I know lots of women who have become pregnant while on the pill.and some while using an iud there is nothing that will protect you 100% from getting pregnant so you have to take steps to use more options.good luck.
