Is It Possible For The Body To Reject A Hallucinogen Such As Lsd Or Pcp?

Filed in Category Symptoms of LSD Use

This is for a screenplay I’m writing; I’m not actually going to use any hallucinogenic drugs.
But anyway – I just want to know if the body, when a hallucinogen like LSD or PCP is taken, can reject it…like how a transplanted organ might be rejected when the body “doesn’t like it”
So is it possible for the body to do this and exhibit symptoms?

I’d find that to be a bit of nonsense. The mechanism of rejecting an organ has to do with your immune system not recognizing the HLA complex of the donated organ and thus creating antibodies against it.
We all have brain receptors that can make a reaction to the drug, nature put those cell receptors in our genes for some reason.
I could agree that it isn’t impossible that someone could create a food allergy reaction to the drug though it would be highly unlikely.
http://www.erowid.org is a great website that you should see to learn more about hallucinogen drugs. Last thing you want is that people that have taken the drugs make fun of your play because the trips were so unreal.

Most adverse effects are the result of taking too much of the drug and a novice user would probably take too much so the screen play would be accurate as to the adverse effects but not so as a user would reduce the amount taken to avoid this. If your play needs adverse effects then it could be the result of taking bad drugs too but I never heard of rejection of drugs if it is a good drug.

PCP isn’t a hallucinogen, do some more homework first.
