Filed in Category Recreational Drug Use
This is a serious question, and I know the first thing everyone is going to think of is “yes”, but I’m talking about responsible recreational drug users. Not just any cerain type of drug either. Is it really bad for you to alter your mind occasionaly in a safe environment? Where is the line drawn to the point of danger when it comes to usage (specifically to the brain)? I would prefer if someone answers this who knows what they’re talking about because I know it’s not just as simple as “drugs are bad mmk?”. I really want to know the facts.

marijauna i consider a recreational drug and its really not that bad for you if done occasionally. you cannot get physically addicted, and there is no actual scientific proof that it is seriously detrimental to your brain function or overall health. the link can solve many common myths about marijauna
Sorry, but Yahoo is running slower than a snail today. I will answer later.
Listen, if you really want to know the facts there is no site better than erowid. Using drugs responsibly is called “harm reduction” and both erowid and bluelight are devoted to it. I suggest you check them out.
That said, you must realize that you can not group all drugs together. ever. They all work in very different ways, giving them very different effects and side effects. Some drugs (meth, alcohol) damage the brain with every use. Other drugs (heroin, marijuana) don’t do damage in the slightest, so where the line is drawn is totally dependent on the drug in question.
Heroin, for example, is very addicting and easy to OD on. So instead of shooting it, it is so much safer to just snort it, or better yet, smoke it (it’s almost impossible to OD from smoking heroin). Also, if you make a promise to yourself to only use every 4 days maximum, you will never get withdrawals. And since heroin does not damage the brain or body (especially if you only use every 4 days), you can use harm reduction to dodge almost every single negative side-effect of this drug, which, is viewed by society as one of the worst. Thus living a completely normal life on heroin.
It’s still possible for drugs to ruin you, but by using harm reduction, you seriously lower the chances. Harm reduction is to drugs what condoms are to sex.
