My brother just came out of prison and for 12 days hes been using heroin (smoking it) and now wants to quit while hes ahead will he get any withdrawal symptoms from this short space of time he was using about 2 bags a day.Hes staying with me just now and cant seem to sleep feels tired and he says he cant quite catch a breath.. hes eating well an otherwise like someone whos just a bit unwell so will he get worse?
Ye he sees a parole an we live in the uk..
he has a huge record so they dont seem to bothered also he doesnt want to use any substitutes eg meth etc.And hes just told me roughly he had 6 bags a day sharing with someone else usually and u get for a bag at £10 about 0.4 of a gram or something like that….he is really agitated right now and telling me his plans of his new life over and over..Any suggestions?
He went out this morning dont know where to ! hopefully not away to get more or he is on his own

Most likely withdrawal symptoms will occur. Depending on the person, it will probably get worse.
Your brother should see a doctor and try to get some prescription drugs for the withdrawal.
LAAM for example can help keep craving away for up to 72 hours, and methadone is a classic oral opiate that is also available through prescription.
It’s never too late to join rehab, as well.
he will be fine if he lays off of it…smoking isnt as bad as injection….a week will be good….tell him to stop this crap, it made a mess of our family for 2 years…my nephew met the wrong kids,and was in the cleveland clinic for 10 days…

a woman through her guts up for a week and in jail
they don’t care…..they have veterinarians taking care of you.
Luckily I got her out for psych reasons.
Depends on how much he was using. A little bit or alot
i mean it really depends on what his history with heroin has been throughout his life. hes very likely to have withdrawl symptoms if he has used it a lot. if he hasnt used before these 12 days they probably wont be that bad. but if he has used the withdrawl symptoms can be really long and miserable and last for weeks. withdrawl sucks
