i’ve known one of my friends has been using heroin, along with many other drugs for years now. i’ve been trying, and will continue to, try to get him to quit.
but i talked to him earlier and he said “my arm hurts like f****ing hell” he also said it looked “bruised and s***”
is his vein collapsed? is it life threatening?
whatever you think it might be and some symptoms, so i can try to figure this out, get this out of the way and try to talk some sense into his thick skull.

I know your veins can collapse while donating blood, but I don’t think it’s life threatening in that situation. Usually the symptoms of that are pain and bruising, but I’m not sure about in the case of heroin use…Good luck in talking some sense into him.
He may have an abscess which can be very serious. My husband sees them in the operating room all the time. They can be life threatening. It’s usually a staph infection. More info—
