Filed in Category Drug Use Statistics
I’m writing a speech, and I need some statistics about drug and drug use. Some statistics I need are:
-Amount of federal and state tax dollars spent in 2005 for the “War on drugs,” and the average amount spent per year since 2000
-Number of people who are incarcerated in the prison systems each year for drug offenses
-Statistical change in the number of known drug users over the last 10 or 20 years
-Number of drug-related crimes committed in Canada
Thank you all in advance.
I’d also like to know how much money is typically spent on drug rehabilitation centers per year.

The only thing I can offer you is this:
The whole war on drugs is fought trying to stop illegal drugs from being smuggled into the country.
If there is no demand, there is no supply. We need to punish users and eliminate the characteristics that lead people to use drugs.
