Ok…My dad was an extensive psychedelics user in his early life (born in 1956, go figure). Now he shows obvious symptoms of paranoia and schizophrenia. Not diagnosed, I still think its present. I was born in 1993. As far as I know, he used LSD, Mushrooms (psycobin) and cannabis. I’ve experienced with weed, maybe smoked 20 times in my life. Do I have an increased risk of mental illness? Is my fathers impairment hereditary? I really want to know, and I dont want to hear the same old song and dance about smoking weed. I do it, get over it. Thanks for future advice.

Yes.
Weed generally messes with the chemical make-up of your brain, temporarily though. But as long as it can do it, many variables can occur where that window of opportunity presents the chance something in your life can get in and stay in, thereby beginning the process of a mental health problem.
If you smoke weed and live a cheerful life, the risk is exponentially lowered, otherwise smoking weed is like getting in the car for a drag-race down a city street without a seat belt. Its dangerous drag racing as it is, but without a seat belt is suicide.
if his problems are directly associated to his past drug abuse then the answer would be more to the no side. (of course you do drugs yourself so that increases your risk) however if what he has is caused by something other than past drug use then of course your chances go up, quite a bit. unfortunatly theres no realy way of knowing that except observation of symptoms, family history and all that non lab test stuff. Good luck
You do it…… you risk further impairment…… get over it and quit wasting our time.
The problem is hereditary so you do have an increased risk. If you do have a problem, then doing psychedelics may bring your problem out for the duration of the high/trip.
Psychedelics can be a tool to get a clearer idea of what is going on inside your head.
If weed doesn’t give you any problems then I think you have little to worry about besides law enforcement.
(I don’t recommend anything illegal. Check the laws where you live and be safe.)
