Is it like drinking alcohol on occasion without turning into an alcoholic? Or are you screwed and it’s inevitable to turn into an addict? Is this all scare tactics created by society? I would think it’s okay as long as it’s done responsibly and in moderation. I wouldn’t know because I don’t do drugs, but I would like to hear all opinions. Thanks!

You are right on. I think most drugs are ok in moderation. You have to be smart if you are going to experiment with drugs because you can form dependencies as you already know. If you try drugs you have to be in the right mind set, around people you are familiar with, and in a comfortable setting. It is also good to know where the drugs are coming from. Always do research on drugs you want to try so you know what to expect. It’s kind of like buying a car. You don’t just jump right in to it. You take time to think about it and make sure it is right (and safe) for you. So in my opinion you can take most drugs with out developing an addiction. There are of course some more major drugs that you would want to shy away from because they are highly addictive and because they do horrible things to your body. Heroin and crack are the ones that come to mind but again the decision is yours. I have never done heroin but I have tried most other things and I am not an addict. You also have to take your personality in to consideration as well. If you have an addictive personality is will be easier for you to form a dependancy. Over all if you are smart about it you can have a lot of fun experimenting and expanding your mind. Good luck in your adventures and be safe!
I think you can, and it’s completely up to the individual. I drink occasionally, smoke only socially or when stressed, and do recreational drugs when I find the time. I started smoking when I was 12 and had never been addicted. When I was 15 I tried pot and did it occasionally with friends and had my 1st drunken moment when I turned 18. I’m 29 now have wine on the weekends (sometimes), If I smoke, a pack of cigarettes can last me up to 3mo, and well I only do pot when I visit my cousin, and that’s maybe 4 times a year.
I think it also depends on what friends you have, if they use more than you tend to use more as well. It’s all about the peer pressure I guess.
Pills are more likely to lead to addiction than alcohol. There is a schedule, 1 through 5.
Any drugs on 1 are contraband, any on 2 are CII’s, and any that are 3 through 5 are still controlled substances.
