I have severe anxiety problems. I started to get constant painful headaches from the anxiety and my fiance offered me one of his Vicodin pills (that a dentist prescribed him for pain). After taking it not only did my headache go away but so did most of my anxiety. I continued to use this drug until I could see a psychiatrist for my own prescription that would be legal for me to take. I saw this psychiatrist today and told him that I had been using the vicodin. I know that doctors are supposed to maintain patient confidentiality, but is there any law that says that he cannot reveal my information?

Not he can’t reveal that.
That’s a fine line. Doctor/Patient confidentiality extends only to your health records, not your criminal history. However, I believe it is their duty to report you to the authorities if you have indicated that you are about to commit another crime.
There are situation that they are obligated to report to the authorities. These involve anything that makes them think you will harm yourself or others, or anything that has harmed you. For example, if a hospital worker molested you, they would be required to report that. If you state you have plans to kill your parents, they will report that also.
But in this case, there is no harm being done, so it is very unlikely he will report you for it. He’s more concerned in getting to what is causing the problem and treating you for it than he is seeing you arrested for illegal drugs. If he started reporting every little thing like this, his patients would not want to open up to him, and he would not be a very good doctor.
